Who I Am: My Journey as an Entrepreneur, Mentor, and Community Builder

May 22, 2025

Welcome to Mackenzie Kilshaw Co! You might be wondering who I am and what makes me the right choice as your business consultant. Let me share my journey and expertise with you.

I’m Mackenzie Kilshaw, a passionate Saskatchewan-based entrepreneur, mentor, and business consultant dedicated to helping small business owners and entrepreneurs thrive. My journey has been fuelled by a love for business, a deep connection to my community, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

My Roots & Early Career

Growing up on a farm near Kenaston, Saskatchewan, I learned the values of hard work, resilience, and community support. These lessons guided me as I pursued my Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan, setting the foundation for my career in sales and business development. I gained invaluable experience working with companies like Hershey’s and SaskTel, where I developed expertise in sales strategies and customer relations.

Entrepreneurial Journey

My passion for business and fashion led me to launch Two Fifty Two (TFT) Boutique in 2014. I wanted to create a unique and customer-focused shopping experience in Saskatoon, and the response was incredible. The success of TFT Boutique allowed me to expand, launching an online store and opening a second location in Regina in 2017. In 2022, I completed my full-circle entrepreneurial journey by selling TFT, an achievement that solidified my understanding of business growth, customer experience, and strategic planning.

Mackenzie Kilshaw Co, Helping Businesses Succeed

In 2024, I took my passion for entrepreneurship to the next level by founding Mackenzie Kilshaw Co, a consulting firm focused on helping small business owners and entrepreneurs achieve their goals. Through personalized strategies in marketing & sales, leadership, and customer experience, I empower business owners to create unforgettable brands.

Recognition & Awards

My dedication to business excellence and community impact has been recognized through several awards, including:

  • Women of Distinction Finalist

  • SABEX and ABEX Award Finalist

  • Customer Service SABEX Award (twice!)

  • New Business Venture SABEX Award (2016)

These acknowledgments reflect not just my hard work but the incredible support of the community and businesses I’ve had the privilege of working with.

Speaking, Mentorship & Education

I believe in sharing knowledge and empowering others. I’ve had the honor of speaking at the University of Saskatchewan, appearing on Global and CTV TV, and contributing to various Chamber of Commerce events. Mentorship is at the core of what I do—helping entrepreneurs navigate challenges and seize opportunities in sales, customer service, and leadership.

Education remains a cornerstone of my growth. I’ve expanded my expertise through:

  • Disney Institute Quality Service Course (Mastering customer service excellence)

  • York University Digital & Content Marketing Certificate (SEO, SEM, Google Ads, automation, analytics, content strategy)

  • Harvard Business School Leadership Principles Certificate (Emotional intelligence, team effectiveness, leadership development)

As a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business,  I guide students through the fundamentals of business, from marketing and finance to operations management. I focus on helping students understand the core principles that drive successful businesses. I also emphasize the importance of strategy, teaching them how to create and implement effective strategies in an ever-changing business landscape. My goal is to ensure that students not only learn the theory but also gain practical skills they can apply in real-world business settings.

Community & Board Involvement

Giving back has always been important to me. I’ve proudly supported local charities and events, earning the Canada 150 Medal in 2017 for my dedication to community service. I’ve also served on the Board of Directors for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan and currently serve on the Saskatchewan Roughriders Board of Directors—a role that combines my love for leadership, teamwork, and community impact.

Family & Looking Ahead

Beyond business, I’m proud to be married to Craig and a devoted stepmom to Aiden. I'm a granddaughter, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, godmother and friend and these are all relationships that I cherish.

At Mackenzie Kilshaw Co, my mission is simple: to help entrepreneurs and small business owners reach their full potential, elevate their brands, and create experiences that leave a lasting impression. If you’re ready to take your business to the next level, let’s connect—I’d love to be part of your journey!

Cheers to business and cheers to you!
